Yair Avidor was born in sunny Tel Aviv, where he grew up, and where he started playing the classical guitar at the age of 10.
His subsequent interest in the lute and early music compelled him to move to colder and damper climes in order to further his studies.
He studied at the Hochschule fur Kunste, Bremen with Stephen Stubbs, was a Fodella Scholarship holder at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan and completed his Masters at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.
